Strong families are the cornerstone of our society. The breakdowns in society are a result of the breakdowns in the family unit. The vision of Eastgate Church is to be a voice changing our world. How do we change our world? How do we change the city and communities in which we live? We do it by building strong, successful families.

What is a family? When God created mankind, He made them male and female. He gave them the ability to reproduce and told them to replenish the earth. Thus, the first family emerged. The family starts with a man and woman coming together in marriage – a lifelong commitment to live in love and unity. A family grows when this union produces children. The parent/child bond enables children to grow up in a stable, secure environment providing them with the basis for a positive and productive life.

Nothing can replace the family. Government services can never replace a mother and father’s love. Social services can’t replace a sibling’s support and devotion or a family’s loyalty and comfort. A family is a one of a kind relationship.

When the family begins to breakdown, the rest of society disintegrates along with it. Yet when the family is valued and put in it’s proper context and place in society then that society will thrive. Why? Every society is made up of people and those people have come out of families. Our society is a picture of the families that people have come out of.

If we move away from the foundations of the family then we are building our lives and future on sand and it will not stand. How can we under gird the family, making it once again a strong foundation of our society? We must return to the Godly principles of family values, security and family love. Not only will our families profit but so will our communities, city, school system and workplaces.

Strong, successful families equals a strong and successful city. We can build successful families by teaching and equipping them to develop an intimacy with God and by teaching them basic principles from the Bible. That is the essence of what Eastgate Church is all about. We are here to help you succeed.
