Q: What does it mean to be "born again"?
A:
Ephesians 2:8 - 9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man boast.
- Matthew 7: 13-14 Enter
ye in at the strait (hemmed in like a narrow gorge between rock) gate.
For wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in there at. Because strait is the gate and
narrow is the way, which leadeth to life and few there be that find
(discover) it."
Notice
who is speaking - Jesus. He is saying something that is very serious,
yet many don't take it seriously. Jesus is saying that the majority of
people end their lives with one final journey into a godless eternity
without Him.
A person can live and die and go to hell without
knowing Him or fulfilling God's plan for their lives. However, that
doesn't mean or change the fact that God had a perfect plan and
redemption for that person. That person just never chose the right path
and discovered that plan.
You
see, what you do with your life is important. The path's you choose are
important. Because when all is said and done in your life, when they
put you in a box, cry over you, say a few good things about you and
close the lid, all that's going to matter is what you did for Jesus.
This
church is here to help people discover Jesus and all that has been made
available through Him. We are here to help people see that things don't
have to be the way they are. Choosing His path is adventurous and
exciting. This is more than missing hell when you die - it's living an
exciting, joyful and fulfilling life here on earth. Discovering who you
really are is the greatest mystery of life. The world needs the real
you. Let us, the people of Mt. Pleasant, help you discover who you were
always meant to be.
